Consider it a reminder to never give out your bank information or cards to someone claiming to work for your bank.

On Wednesday April 1 in waterloo a victim was contacted by a person claiming to work for Scotiabank, who claimed their cards had been used fraudulently.

They convinced the victim to tell them their PIN, and once they got it informed them a courier would be sent to their address to collect their cards.

At roughly 5:30 p.m. a suspect arrived at their residence on Helene Crescent to get the cards, and they were used to make fraudulent purchases as well as withdraw cash from the account.

Police have since launched an investigation, and are asking anyone who has information or footage of the area from the time of the incident to contact them.
