
A group of young men from Kitchener are facing charges after being arrested in connection with a disturbance in Kitchener.
It was around 8:25 p.m. on Friday when regional police officers responded to that call at a business in the Ottawa Street South and Strasburg Road area.
An update from police describes the disturbance as having occurred inside the business where pepper spray was released. Two employees suffered minor injuries.
An investigation led to the arrest of five youths from Kitchener.
- Male, 15, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstruct peace officer
- Male, 17, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Male, 16, obstruct peace officer
- Male, 15, fail to comply with undertaking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Male, 16, unauthorized possession of a weapon
Officials believe approximately ten youths total were involved in the disturbance, but several ran away before police arrived on scene. They have not yet been identified, and police have not confirmed the number of individuals.
Police also note that the incident was targeted in nature.
