Five passengers taken to hospital after Waterloo collision

A two-car collision in Waterloo on the afternoon of June 13 has sent two drivers and three passengers to a local hospital.

Around 2:30 p.m., police arrived at a reported collision at the intersection of University Avenue East and Lincoln Road. The vehicles involved were a Toyota and a Nissan SUV.

A 25-year-old and a 34-year-old were driving each vehicle, and were taken to local hospital along with three passengers. Authorities say the group sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed throughout most of the afternoon on June 13, but has since reopened.

The investigation remains ongoing by the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit, and charges are anticipated.
