Fatal collision in Kitchener between e-bike and pickup truck

One person is dead following a collision between a pickup truck and an e-bike.

Emergency services responded to reports of the collision at the intersection of Lancaster and Guelph streets in Kitchener around 9:45 p.m. Friday.

The driver of the e-bike, a 44-year-old Kitchener man, was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 36-year-old Kitchener man, had no reported injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours while police were investigating, but has since reopened.

Police ask anyone with information on the incident, or who may have dash cam footage, to contact them at 519-570-9777. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
