A Cambridge driver is facing a list of charges after police said he was asleep behind the wheel and driving while impaired.

Friday afternoon around 3:40 p.m., police were called about a driver, stopped at the intersection of Booty Lane and Lena Crescent.

That is in the Cambridge Centre mall area.

“Witnesses reported the driver appeared to be asleep behind the wheel while the vehicle was running,” said police. “Officers located the vehicle and found the driver asleep in the driver’s seat. When awoken, the driver displayed signs of impairment.”

Suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and cash were seized by police.

A 39-year-old Cambridge man has been charged with numerous offences including Operation while Impaired, and two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
