The Sun Life Waterloo Busker Carnival is back in Uptown Waterloo this week.

The world-class performances start Thursday night at 7 p.m., and run through to Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.

Over the four-day event, 20 entertainers will be in town for a total of 60 shows. The performances are spread out between Waterloo Public Square, Regina Street (between William and Erb) and Waterloo City Hall.

Performances include everything from personalized cartoon portraits, fire gymnastics, comedy, hula hooping, contortionists, and even a big balloon act.

A full list of performers can be found here.

Attending the carnival is free, but event organizers remind event-goers that the performers rely on tips to earn a living.

“Busking is one of the most honest forms of entertainment – you watch the show first and tip based on how much you enjoyed it,” reads the carnival website.

“So if a show made you laugh, cheer, or stare in awe, we encourage you to show your appreciation.”

The famous ferris wheel and midway games will also be available to enjoy through to Sunday.
