Brampton woman arrested, charged for assaulting police officer in Waterloo

A Brampton woman has been arrested and charged after assaulting a regional police officer who was on patrol in Waterloo late-afternoon on Sunday.

According to police, the officer was on foot patrol in the area of Willis Way and King Street South, right at the corner of Waterloo Public Square.

The officer noticed the woman had open liquor and attempted to engage with her.

The 27-year-old woman assaulted the officer, uttered threats at them, injured them, and attempted to spit on them multiple times.

She was charged with assault with a weapon, three counts of assaulting a police officer, and more.
