Two suspects at large following Kitchener assault, robbery

Regional police are searching for two suspects following a report of robbery and assault in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Waterloo Regional Police say they received a call around 1 a.m. about an incident at the intersection of Boehmer and Union streets in Kitchener.

Following an initial investigation, police say a group of people had been leaving a nightclub when they hitched a ride from two unknown men. During the ride, an altercation broke out, and one woman was forcibly removed from the vehicle.

Police say the woman was physically assaulted and the suspects stole her personal property.

They then took off in their vehicle.

The victim reported minor physical injuries.

Police are still searching for the two suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call 519-570-9777, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
