As the Rangers wrap up the last of their regular season games, they broke their home ice ring streak against the Sarnia Sting.
The game opened with a back and forth affair, with neither team able to get past the others defense for the entire first period. The first goal of the game would come thirty-eight seconds into the second period, with Sarnia taking the lead.
Dylan Edwards would tie the game, earning his 40th goal of the season, his first season to reach the 40 goal mark. Gabriel Chiarot would get another goal to give the Blueshirts a 2-1 lead, but the Sting would tie things up before the game headed into the third.
More back-and-forth gameplay would keep things tense in the third, before Jack Pridham would get his 46th of the season and give Rangers fans hope. The Sting quickly squashed that hope by tying the game again less than a minute later.
With 1:10 left on the clock, the Rangers believed they had a penalty shot, but it was deemed the Rangers touched the puck on a delayed penalty call before the puck was covered by the glove of a sting player in the crease.
A power play for the Sting followed, where Sarnia would slide the puck past the goal line to take the win.
This ends a 14 game win-streak on home ice for the Blueshirts, with just one more game to go to wrap up the regular season.
That game takes place tonight in Owen Sound against the Attack, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. and the pregame show on 570 NewsRadio starting at 6:30 p.m.
