The Wanderers return to the pitch as Halifax’s professional men’s soccer club officially launches its 2026 season.
Led by new head coach Vanni Sartini, the Wanderers are in Vancouver with a revamped roster that includes two-time Golden Glove winner Marco Carducci between the posts.
The former Cavalry FC star was acquired by the Wanderers in December for a two-year contract through 2027.
He will join a number of young new players and former Canadian national team defender Marcus Godinho, who signed in January.
On the Halifax Wanderers website, Sartini said he will rotate players through and ensure everyone gets lots of playing time on the pitch.
“In every team that I coach, I like to rotate and to give opportunities to different players,” he said. “I always say the team is the leader, and the team is composed of 22 players at the moment, and hopefully everybody will be a protagonist in one way or another.”
Kick off is at 8 p.m. AT Saturday.
The Wanderers first home game in the CPL will take place on Apr. 18 at 2 p.m. against Pacific FC at the Wanderer Grounds.
