The RCMP says three vehicles were involved in a crash that killed two people on Wednesday.

According to police, emergency officials responded to the crash around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 104 near Beaver Meadow.

“Officers learned that a Dodge Ram 2500 towing a trailer rear-ended a Honda CRV as traffic was slowed near a construction zone. The Honda CRV was pushed forward and struck a semi-trailer,” police wrote in a media release.

A 67-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, the driver and passenger of the SUV, were pronounced dead at the scene. The two were both from Paq’tnkek.

No injuries were reported to people in the other two vehicles, according to the RCMP.
