Man charged with attempted murder after shooting in Dartmouth

Regional police have charged a man with attempted murder following a shooting in Dartmouth on Sunday.

HRP released a statement saying officers responded to reports of shots being fired just before 6:30 p.m. in the area of Green Road.

On scene, officers located a man with life-threatening injuries, they are calling “consistent with a gunshot wound.”

Police were asking people to avoid the area at the time as they searched for the suspect, including the use of a police service dog.

Around 7:40 p.m., RCMP reported their officers arrested a suspect in a vehicle near Flying Cloud Drive and Forrest Hills Parkway.

A 30-year-old man was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Monday to face charges of attempted murder and multiple firearms related charges.

Police continue to investigate but they say they are not looking for any other suspects in the shooting.
