Search warrant in Eastern Passage uncovers stash of drugs, loaded gun

RCMP have charged two people with drug trafficking in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

According to the RCMP, officers executed a warrant at a home in Eastern Passage on March 5, where officers found and seized cocaine, methamphetamine, cash and a loaded handgun.

Mounties arrested a 34-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman at the property on Cow Bay Road.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Land Rover Discovery were also seized as “offence-related property.”

The two suspects will appear in court to face several charges which include unauthorized possession of a firearm and other weapons-related charges.

They will also face drug-related charges, including two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. The male suspect faces additional firearms charges, remains in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Mar. 10.

The female was released and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Mar. 13.
