A woman is facing charges after a robbery at a gas station in Enfield.

On the morning of Aug. 8, Mounties responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a gas station and convenience store on Highway 2, where a woman was taking items from a display inside the store and placing them in her bag.

Police said that when staff noticed what she was doing, the woman threatened to stab the employees with a knife.

She then left the store and took off in a vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.

Through video footage and witness information, police said they were able to identify a suspect.

Samantha May MacDonald, 39, of Indian Brook, has been charged with robbery and failing to comply with a probation order.

MacDonald was held in custody and appeared in court on Monday.
