
The provincial government has announced Dr. Nicole Boutilier as the new president and CEO of Nova Scotia Health.
Dr. Boutilier previously served as executive vice-president at the health authority. She was raised in Pictou County and graduated from Dalhousie Medical School before practicing as a family doctor.
“Nova Scotia is my home and together with our dedicated teams across the province, I look forward to building on the strong foundation that has been created and continuing to improve access, quality and experiences for Nova Scotians through innovation, research and ongoing transformation,” she said in a media release.
Health Minister Michelle Thompson said Boutilier is “known for her collaborative leadership style and ability to bring people together around a shared vision” and has been and excellent leader in her time at Nova Scotia Health.
The appointment takes effect Wednesday, July 1, as Boutilier will take over the role from outgoing CEO Karen Oldfield.
