Two people are facing charges after a robbery at a gas station in Dartmouth.

According to Halifax Regional Police, the incident occurred on Friday around 7:10 p.m. when staff at a Petro Canada location on Portland Street reported a man and a woman entered, the man jumping over the counter and taking cash and cigarettes before running off.

Police say staff were not hurt and report that officers located and arrested the pair on Sunday.

A 31-year-old man and 23-year-old woman face several charges, among them robbery and theft under $5,000.

The man also faces additional charges that include breach of probation and breach of release order.

Police say they believe the pair are also responsible for several other robbery incidents in Halifax and Dartmouth earlier this month.
