Police arrest man in Cape Breton for arson after weekend fires

A man from Cape Breton is facing arson charges after several fires were set around North Sydney over the weekend.

According to Cape Breton Regional Police, a number of structure and vehicle fires were lit on Saturday, and a 32-year-old man is being charged in connection with those incidents.

Among the charges he is facing are arson endangering life, four counts of arson, damaging property as well as possession of incendiary material and theft of a security camera.

The man remains in custody and is expected to appear in court Monday.

Police are asking anyone with information about the fires set around Peppett Street and William Street to reach out to them or Crime Stoppers.
