A planned concert by a controversial singer, Sean Feucht, from the U.S. scheduled for Wednesday at a national historic site near Halifax will not go ahead as planned.

In a media release sent Tuesday, Parks Canada said that a permit issued to a vendor at York Redoubt has been revoked.

The release said that Parks Canada was not putting on the show, it was being planned through a vendor, and that the decision was made to revoke the permit was made due to evolving safety and security considerations based on confirmation of planned protests, and input from law enforcement.

Feucht’s social media site says the concert will go ahead at a new location outside Halifax.

Earlier in the week, people living near the site began to raise the alarm over Christian singer and strong MAGA supporter Sean Feucht’s show at the historic site.

Feucht in the past has spoken out against 2SLGBTQ+ rights along with abortion rights and ran unsuccessfully for congress as a republican in California.

Wednesday’s show was to begin a tour of Canada that has scheduled stops in Charlottetown, Moncton and Quebec City.
