Ontario man facing human trafficking charges in Nova Scotia

The RCMP in Nova Scotia says a man from Ontario is facing mutiple charges related to human trafficking.

According to police, the Human Trafficking Unit got a report in February about a man forcing a woman into the sex trade in Nova Scotia in 2016.

Last week, officers travelled to Kingston, Ontario and arrested 28-year-old Cory Patrick Mackey.

Police say Mackey has been charged with Trafficking in Persons, Procuring Sexual Services, Advertising Sexual Services, Material Benefit from Trafficking in Humans and Material Benefit from Sexual Services.

He appeared in Halifax Provincial Court and was released with another appearance scheduled for July 23.
