The price of diesel in Nova Scotia saw a jump overnight as an interruption went into effect.
The Nova Scotia Energy Board announced on Tuesday that it would be invoking its interrupter clause due to a significant shift in the market price for diesel oil.
At midnight, the provincial regulator hiked diesel prices up 7.6 cents to 193.0.
The board said the price of gas would not be impacted so regular self-serve gasoline remains at 168.9 cents per litre.
Previous to Wednesday, Nova Scotians were paying 185.4 for diesel.
This time last year, residents were paying 143.7 for gas and 151.6 for diesel.
