A 19-year-old man is facing aggravated assault charges after an altercation with a youth in Eskasoni.
RCMP in Eskasoni say the incident occurred on Sunday around 4 a.m., when officers were called about an injured youth outside a school on Shore Road.
Responding officers say the youth had life-threatening injuries and was sent to hospital.
The altercation was witnessed by several people who reported that the youth collapsed.
Police identified the suspect and safely arrested him.
He appeared in Sydney Provincial Court on April 20 and was released on conditions pending future court appearances.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
