The RCMP says a variety of weapons have been seized during a search of a home in Pictou County.

In a release, Mounties say the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU) executed a search warrant at a home on Foxbrook Road in Westville on April 14, supported by an RCMP K9 unit.

During the search, investigators uncovered several firearms as well as prohibited and restricted firearm accessories and ammunition.

They say police also seized crossbows and other weapons such as swords that are considered dangerous to the public, and body armour.

A 33-year-old Westville man was arrested but later released on conditions pending a court appearance scheduled for July 13.

The PCISCEU is made up of police officers from Pictou County District RCMP, Westville Police Service, and Stellarton Police Service.
