Man, woman face long list of weapons charges after found unresponsive

Halifax Regional Police have charged a man and a woman with weapons offences after an incident on the weekend.

Police say that on Saturday afternoon, officers were called to Withrod Drive after two people were found unresponsive but breathing in a home.

When officers arrived, they say they found the pair as well as a loaded handgun and a large quantity of cash.

Raheem Munroe, 33, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Possession of a firearm\prohibited or restricted obtained by crime
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a firearm – no license/certificate
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order/fail to surrender (x2)
  • Failure to comply with condition of release order (x4)

Daejiah Johnson, 27, is charged with:

  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition obtained by crime
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a firearm – no license/certificate
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace

The man appeared in court on Monday while the woman will appear in front of a judge at a later date.
