The University of King’s College Teaching Association has reached a tentative deal with the Halifax school’s administration.

As a result, some staff at King’s will not be walking off the job at noon as they previously warned. After failing to produce a deal on Tuesday, the UKTCA had said some teaching staff would strike, beginning Thursday.

At the time, the top priorities of that deal were focused on contract renewability, tutorial cap sizes and improving wages.

On social media early Thursday, the UKTCA said details of the agreement would be released in due time, but a deal was ratified by both sides.

They also issued thanks to other unions, colleagues and the King’s student body and student union for their support throughout the bargaining process.

The King’s College Student Union exhibited their solidarity with campus staff members with a rally at King’s quad on Tuesday.
