Another day of heat warnings is in effect across most of Nova Scotia.

Environment Canada has issued alerts for much of the province, except parts of Digby, Shelburne and Yarmouth counties.

The national forecaster says areas under the warning will see temperatures today ranging from 29 to 31 C, with humidex values making it feel more like 34 to 36.

The good news is that relief from the July heat is expected to begin tomorrow.

“If you are looking for more widespread relief from the humidity, a cold front will cross Nova Scotia overnight on Wednesday and into Thursday,” said Allister Aalders, 95.7 NewsRadio Weather Specialist. “Behind that front, less humid air is settling in with the high of 26 only feeling like 29.”

As that front comes across, Environment Canada said there is a risk of a thunderstorm overnight on Wednesday. Fog is expected to develop in the evening.

By the long weekend, Aalders said daytime highs are forecast to fall to 21 C on Friday and the mid-20s on Saturday.
