Local fire officials say the wildfire near Susies Lake has grown to an estimated six to ten hectares by Tuesday evening.

Helicopters have been busy dropping water on the blaze with planes laying fire retardant and water. It was also reported that 30 firefighters have tackled the wildfire from the ground.

Reports from the scene suggest the firefighting efforts seem to have limited the likelihood of the wildfire from getting worse.

Numerous runs by water bombers dropping water in an attempt to extinguish the fire were conducted. Teams even flew in from New Brunswick to assist.
