The Halifax Regional Municipality has booked a series of events this summer that offer residents a chance to test-drive an electric vehicle.

There is no cost to take part in the HalifACT Next Ride electric vehicle test drive events — and a variety of vehicles will be available to try out.

The first ‘Electric Avenue’ event will be held this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Canada Games Centre. Additional test drive events will be held throughout the municipality from June 25 to August 26.

In a release, the municipality says residents are encouraged to pre-register to secure a test drive, as walk-up availability is limited.

The HRM says investment in fleet electrification infrastructure continues to advance, with design and construction underway at various stages across the municipality.
