It’s not a ‘good’ Friday for many drivers in Nova Scotia after gas prices rose for the second time this week.
In its weekly adjustment, the Nova Scotia Energy Board increased the price of regular self-serve gasoline by 4.2 cents to 187.1 cents per litre at midnight.
Meantime, the price of diesel went down 3 cents on Friday to rest at 243.7 cents per litre.
The changes come after the provincial regulator invoked the interrupter clause on Tuesday, raising the price of gas up 7.1 cents with diesel increasing by 10.9 cents.
Global oil prices are the main contributor for the escalating costs and they remained high on Thursday with the price of Brent crude, the international standard, jumping 7.8% to $109.03 per barrel.
A year ago, Nova Scotians were paying 1.49 for gasoline and 1.61 for diesel.
