
The price of diesel dropped in Nova Scotia on Tuesday after the provincial regulatory invoked the interrupter clause at midnight.
The Nova Scotia Energy Board says due to a significant shift in the global market price, it has adjusted prices at the pumps.
The price-per-litre for diesel dropped 7.1 cents overnight to rest at 195.1.
The NSEB made no change however to the price of regular self-serve gasoline.
The move comes as Canadian and U.S. stock markets rallied after the U.S. and Iran reached a tentative deal to extend their ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz to get the global flow of crude going again.
Stocks got a lift after the price for a barrel of Brent crude oil fell 4.8 per cent to US$83.17, back to where it was in early March.
