5 in custody, one in hospital following Halifax shooting

Five people are in custody following a shooting in Halifax that sent one to hospital Friday evening.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Halifax Regional Police was informed about an assault involving weapons on Intercolonial Street. Further reports were received that shots had been fired.

All five suspects fled the scene by the time police arrived, but were located and are now in police custody. Charges have yet to be laid.

One person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Intercolonial Street and a section of Kempt Road are closed for the investigation.

Anyone with information or video from the area are asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
