Police arrested a man over the weekend after an incident at the Dartmouth Spring Carnival on Saturday.
Halifax Regional Police say they were called just before 6 p.m. to the Main Street midway about reports of a man carrying bear spray.
Police did not release many details but did say the suspect was an 18-year-old who was taken into custody without incident.
He appeared in provincial court on Tuesday to face possession of a weapon dangerours to public peace.
Other charges included disguise with intent and breach of probation.
