A section of downtown Calgary was shut down Thursday due to falling debris during windy weather.
Police and fire crews were called to 2 Avenue SW near the Sheraton Suites hotel around 5:30 p.m. after chunks of metal paneling fell from a Plus 15 walkway.
No injuries were reported and no other property damage has been found.
The incident comes with Calgary experiencing very windy conditions. The city is under a special weather statement warning of potentially heavy and blowing snow through to Saturday morning.
Officers have closed off 2 Avenue SW between 3 Street and 4 Street while crews work to secure the area. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are being asked to avoid the area.
