A downtown Calgary condo tower was evacuated Thursday evening as armed police searched the building for a wanted person.
Residents of the UPTEN building near 10 Avenue and 1st Street SE were ordered out before 6 p.m. after officers arrived with rifles and conducted‑energy weapons visible.
Police confirmed officers are looking for a wanted individual inside and are going through the building floor by floor.
Residents were allowed to go back in the building starting around 8:30 p.m.
Police didn’t indicate whether any arrests were made.
