The Ford van continued off the road northwest into the median and was hit by a 2022 Ram truck travelling in the far-left lane that was towing a utility trailer. The Ram sustained damage to its front end and its trailer.
The driver ejected from the van, a 34-year-old man, was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. His condition ha been upgraded to stable.
The driver and passenger of the Honda that the van landed on, an 81-year-old man and 80-year-old man, were taken to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
