A large section of Calgary Transit’s Blue Line will be closed for maintenance this weekend.

The line will be shut down between Rundle and Franklin stations in the city’s northeast on Saturday and Sunday. Shuttle buses will be running between the station every five minutes.

Calgary Transit says the buses will stop at Marlborough station, which is between Franklin and Rundle.

The closure will be in effect at the start of day Saturday. The work is expected to be completed in the early hours of Monday morning so that the line reopens to commuters at the start of the work week.

The closure will make way for a number of maintenance projects including tunnel lighting replacement in the 36 Avenue NE tunnel, 12 Avenue NE crossing work, signals along the line, and electrical work.
