Calgary Stampede attendance for 2025 will push pass a million people on Thursday despite a day of cooler wet weather.

Calgarians and visitors around the world continue to flock to Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth with Kids’ Day on Wednesday seeing more than 160,000 people pass through the gates.

Wednesday’s totals pushed this year’s total attendance to just over 970,000. Attendance on Wednesday last year was 134,000, which brought the 2024 total through five days to 905,000.

Stampede officials say 193,000 people walked through the gates on Tuesday this year, which was TC Energy Community Day.

The numbers so far this year suggest the 10-day event will have no problem breaking it’s 2024 attendance record of 1,477,953.

Concerns about Coca-Cola Stage crowds

Wednesday saw another night of huge crowds attending the Coca-Cola Stage to take in evening music acts.

Videos online show a mass of people watching Amine and Khalid, making for the second straight evening of the audience at the stage packing in like sardines.

The Don Toliver show on Tuesday night drew plenty of concern from attendees who felt there were too many people packing into the area during the performance.

Stampede officials have said organizers still feel comfortable with the concerts so far this year.

“We feel that overall the concert was a great success, when we heard remarks from fans leaving at the end of the night, the majority was positive,” says Stampede safety director Kerrie Blizard.

Many have taken to social media to express concerns about the layout near the Coca-Cola Stage, saying the space is not big enough for some of the artists who are performing at the venue.
