A Calgary man sentenced to prison for child porn and voyeurism charges nearly a decade ago is facing new similar charges.

On June 24 around 5:30 p.m., officers were called to Southcentre Mall at 100 Anderson Road SE for reports a man was seen using a cellphone to record young girls and women without their consent.

After speaking with a victim who saw the man filming her, and reviewing CCTV footage, investigators were able to identify the man, who they couldn’t immediately locate.

On Tuesday, July 1, police executed a search warrant on Marquis Lane SE where various electronics with child pornography material were seized.

The suspect was arrested without incident.

Fifty-one-year-old Jeffrey Robert Williamson has since been charged with one count of voyeurism, possession of child pornography, and accessing child pornography.

In 2017, police started investigating an online Twitter account dubbed ‘Canada Creep’ where someone would film unsuspecting women in downtown Calgary.

The site contained hundreds of videos taken of women, in some cases underneath their skirts.

Williamson was eventually charged in the case and plead guilty. He was sentenced to two years in prison for child porn and voyeurism charges.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday for the most recent charges.
