A month-long drug trafficking investigation in Calgary has led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of more than $40,000 worth of drugs, cash, and weapons.
Calgary police launched an investigation in September 2025, which led officers to execute a search warrant at a home along 42 Street SE in the community of Forest Lawn on Oct. 17.
Inside the home, officers seized a large quantity of drugs and weapons, including:
- 402.4 grams of suspected fentanyl (estimated street value: $40,200)
- 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine ($110)
- 47.3 grams of suspected psilocybin ($950)
- $645 in Canadian currency
- A digital weigh scale
- Five airsoft handguns
- Multiple real firearms, including a silver .22 caliber handgun, a foldable switch handgun, a bulldog pocket handgun, and a Louis Vuitton-handled High Standard 107 Military handgun
- Rifle components and receivers
- Live .22 caliber ammunition
- Several bladed weapons including throwing axes and machetes
- A makeshift taser, batons, and brass knuckles
Police arrested and charged two men in connection with the operation:
- Anthony Roy Aransevia, 42, faces charges including possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm, three counts of possessing prohibited weapons, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
- Dakota Cody Ermine, 35, is charged with three counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.
Staff Sgt. Keith Shufelt emphasized the danger posed by the seized airsoft guns, noting their realistic appearance could escalate high-risk situations.
“In a high-risk situation, that kind of realism can pose a serious threat to officer and public safety,” Shufelt said in a statement. “Shutting down this operation is about restoring a sense of safety in the community.”
