A 68-year-old man is facing voyeurism charges on Wednesday after Calgary police say he recorded women invited from his church into his southwest home over nine years.
Officers say the investigation began when they received reports that intimate photos and videos of women staying at home were found on the homeowner’s tablet in November 2024.
This led to police executing a search warrant of the home on the 100 block of Westwood Drive SW, where electronic devices were seized, which contained 1,500 photos and 19 videos of an “intimate nature.”
Three victims are believed to be involved.
Officers believe the man, 68-year-old Brad Dewar, provided short-term lodging to women he met through his church position between 2016 and 2025. The suspect’s Facebook profile lists him as being connected to Victory Church.
While staying with the suspect, investigators believe he used several devices to record the victims without their knowledge.
As a result, Dewar faces three counts of voyeurism. He is expected to appear in court on Sept. 22.
