A vehicle collision on Calgary’s Centre Street that led to a motorcyclist in his 60s being thrown off his bike and dying Friday is under investigation.
Calgary police say it happened at around 4 p.m. on the corner of Calgary’s Centre Street and 12 Avenue when a man in his 60s, driving a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, was heading northbound on Centre Street North.
At the same time, a 2002 Acura MDX SUV going south turned left across the motorcyclist’s path, striking and dismounting them.
Police say he suffered critical injuries and later died of life-threatening injuries in hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver was uninjured and remained on scene.
