It’s the place to be for fans of movies, comics, anime, sci-fi, horror, animation, gaming and more — the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo is back at the BMO Centre starting Thursday.

Some of the celebrities on hand at this year’s event include William Shatner, Anthony Daniels, Tom Welling, Alyssa Milano, and all four of The Hobbits.

“We have incredible comic talent that’s going to be here as well with Joe Quesada, one of the biggest names in comics,” Andrew Moyes, vice-president of Fan Expo HQ. “What I love about this line up is regardless of what you’re a fan of — whether it’s anime, gaming, fantasy, comics — we’ve got the best of the best for you.”

The Hobbits will be in town to mark the 25th anniversary of “The Lord of the Rings.”

“It’s going to be a Hobbit marathon when you think about the fact that their all going to be there, you can get a photo with them,” said Andrew Moyes, vice-president of Fan Expo HQ. “They are doing a special event on Saturday night, and there’s also exclusive merchandise from the Wētā Workshop in New Zealand. [We’re] really delighted to have them.”

The Expo runs until Sunday, officially kicking off with the Parade of Wonders in downtown on Friday morning.

Tickets are still available to be purchased online, or on site at the BMO Centre.
