There continues to be few details about the disappearance of 25-year-old Eli Wood.
They have been missing since Oct. 18, when a fire broke out in their unit of a multi-residential unit home on Major Street in Kitchener.
The fire was quickly determined to be arson, and police have confirmed that foul play was involved. However, the nature of the foul play has not been specified, with police saying that’s to protect the integrity of the investigation.
Police also refused to say if this was a targeted incident.
Wood’s friends and former classmates at Mount Allison University (MtA) have started a GoFundMe campaign to cover the costs as Wood’s parents travel from their home in Nova Scotia to Kitchener to continue the search.

“While at MtA Eli always fought for and supported the whole community,” the fundraiser reads.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the WRPS’ Major Crime Unit at 519-570-9777, extension 8191.
