A driver is facing multiple criminal and Highway Traffic Act charges after allegedly fleeing police and crashing into a Cambridge home.
On Thursday night, a traffic enforcement officer with the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) spotted a grey 2012 Ford Focus that had two different licence plates, and both were expired.
Police tried to pull over the vehicle on Can-Amera Parkway but the driver didn’t comply.
“The vehicle was later observed in the area of Langs Drive and Mary Avenue. No attempt was made to stop the vehicle at that time,” said WRPS in a release. “A short time later, the driver continued travelling before colliding with a residence on Concession Road.”
Police said the driver fled on foot but was located nearby and arrested.
The 33-year-old man was held for a bail hearing.
Police continue to investigate the incident and are asking witnesses to contact them.
