A heated argument in Kitchener has led to weapons-related charges for a man.

It was on Thursday, around 12:20 p.m., when police were called to the area of Highland Road West and Patricia Avenue in Kitchener for reports of a man with a knife.

Police later learned that the man had been involved in an argument with the driver and passenger of a nearby vehicle.

That disagreement allegedly got heated, escalating to the point where the suspect drew a knife.

However, that’s as far as the altercation went, police said. No physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

A 24-year-old Kitchener man was arrested by police, though, and has since been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, and two counts of breach of probation order.

Anyone with information regarding that confrontation is asked to reach out to regional police at 519-570-9777.

Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crime Stoppers, either online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
