
RCMP laid more charges against a man after a member of the public found a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition abandoned off a logging road in Enfield.
On Nov. 29, Mounties responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 100 block of Oldham Road and while en route, officers learned the man was last seen getting into a Saturn SUV.
After evading police traffic stops, the suspect exited the passenger side of the Saturn and fled into the woods. The driver was arrested but later released without charges.
An emergency alert was issued shortly after, while residents provided real-time sightings of the man.
On Dec. 2, RCMP said after a chase using a drone and the K9 unit, 39-year-old Michael Franklyn Garden Cole was arrested and charged.
However, officers could not locate the weapon reported.
Earlier this week, a resident found a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition hidden on a logging road in the 200 block of Oldham Road. Police went and seized the items.
As a result, Garden Cole is facing additional charges in relation to the incident.
The accused remains in custody until his next court appearance on Dec. 5.
